Q. What is a Level Configuration?
Each Tournament Level (Junior, Adult, Wheelchair) can be configured to have its own unique set of properties. There is a wide variety of properties that can be specified. Examples of these Level Configuration Properties are Draw Format, Scoring Format, Application Fee, Length of Event, etc.
Q. Who can create a Level Configuration?
Select National, Section, and District staff have access to create and edit Level Configurations. Level Configurations are created from a hierarchy of National > Section > District.
Q. What draw formats can I use?
Following the release on June 14th, 2021, the scoring and draw formats in Tournament Desk now represent what has been selected by the National, Section and District teams. The formats are different for each specific level of tournament and type of tournament, i.e. Adult, Junior or Wheelchair.
Q. What is different from before?
This now means that once Tournament Desk is launched, the Tournament Director will only be able to select the draw formats and score formats, as agreed by the National, Section or District teams.
When Tournament Desk is launched, it will pull what is selected for that level configuration at the time. Even if you had previously selected a draw type, this may no longer be available.
Q. What happens if I need to use a different draw or score format that is no longer available?
The Tournament Director will need to reach out to their Section or District staff to discuss this and see what options are available and should be used.
