Doubles pairings can be unpaired and then recreated if a teammate is withdrawn from an event within Tournament Desk. Follow the steps below to unpair and withdraw a player from a team. Note: Scores will need to be cleared for the team you are removing.
How to Unpair and Withdraw a Player from a Team
- Navigate to Tournament Desk by clicking Launch Tournament Desk on the tournament menu.
- Select EVENTS on the top left. Choose the DOUBLES event that you want to edit. See example:
TO UNPAIR BEFORE DRAW IS MADE:
After saving changes, scroll down and you can view which players are unpaired.
Under the event that you are editing, you can View on USTA.COM. Click the drop down arrow under the event:
TO UNPAIR ONCE DRAW IS MADE:
Within the event, select Draw.
Left click on the players that you wish to wish and select remove from draw. A pop up will appear, click remove from the draw. This will leave a blank spot - TBD.
Then click on Entries tab. The players you withdrew from the draw will have the action dots next to their name. Select this and choose - Unpair players.
A pop up will appear - select the player(s) that you wish to withdraw or if you want to move both players click remove. This will place the players into either 'Unpaired' or 'Withdrawn'.
Next : Create any new pairings needed. Then to add an alternate pair into the draw, go back to the draw and on the TBD - click add alternate. It will confirm that they will be charged if they have not been charged already. The alternates will also receive an email confirming them of their selection to the event.
TO WITHDRAW A PLAYER FROM A TEAM:
Scroll down to PARTICIPANTS. Choose the player you would like to withdraw. On the right hand side, under ACTIONS, choose UNPAIR PLAYERS
A Pop Up box will appear. Choose the player you would like to withdraw, and it will look like this:
Choose the player you would like to withdraw and click REMOVE
