From the 3rd August 2022, swapping players in the Consolation Draw will only available for unsanctioned events - including Junior Circuit, WTN Play and Unsanctioned events. If your event is one of these events please see the guidelines on how to move players in the consolation draw- click here
For sanctioned tournaments, player movement in consolation draws from 3rd August 2022 will be prevented to ensure compliance with the Junior & Adult Tournament Regulations and Friend at Court (USTA REGULATIONS II.B.5) See FAQ for more details . While promoting play continues to be a priority, this will ensure ranking points from consolation draws are awarded correctly for all sanctioned (ranked) tournaments.
For the feed-in draw formats, such as FMLC or Feed in to quarterfinals or round of 16, once the players have played and lost their first round(s) in the main draw, they will automatically be placed in the correct position for the consolation draw. If the player is unable to play in the consolation draw, the match result should be marked as a walkover, specifying the reason of the walkover. ie illness, personal circumstance. This will allow the other players to progress in the draw.
You will see this message in red in Tournament Desk.

FAQs:
Q: I previously could move players in the consolation draw, why has this been changed?
A: * If you are running a feed-in -draw for a sanctioned event, from August 3 2022, the system has removed this option to be in line with the rules and regulations as per Friends at Court. (USTA REGULATIONS II.B.5) Pg. 70. The software will correctly assign the position based on the outcome of the main draw.
Q: Can I add an alternate into the consolation draw?
A: No this is not possible, only players who have played in the main draw can play in the consolation draw.
Q: One of the doubles partners had to drop out during or after the first match of the main draw, can someone else play in their place? Can I add them to the consolation draw?
A: No, this is not possible. Only the doubles team that played in the main draw and lost can continue in the consolation with the same partner. You would need to mark the match as a walkover for the doubles team in the consolation.
Q: Quite a few players did not play in the consolation. To accommodate everyone some players were given more matches than others . Can I enter the scores for both matches in the consolation draw?
A: No, this is not within regulations and extra matches can not be recorded. In unsanctioned events, you will need to choose which match you wish to be recorded in the system and move the players as needed. Once the players are in the consolation and the first round has been played, they will continue to advance in the consolation draw, the system will move them to the next round . You will not be able to record any additional match ups .
Q: I need further assistance with this, who should I reach out to?
A: Please reach out to your Section or District staff for advice regarding this. They will be able to advise further within the rules and regulations. Customer Care will not be able to make changes themselves.
