What is a Micro Grant?
The USTA recently pledged $5 million over the course of 5 years to foster the growth of tennis via local programs through Micro Grant initiatives. These funds are intended to assist with projects such as starting-up a new Community Tennis Association (CTA), running a local Red Ball Tennis activation, building a team of tennis ambassadors, or providing equipment to under-resourced areas.
How do Micro Grants Work?
- Grants are to be used to support the grassroots growth of tennis via local providers.
- The minimum awarded amount per application is $2,500, and the maximum awarded amount is $10,000.
- Applicants should include quantifiable goals along with the how they intend to measure the impact of their award.
How Can I Apply for a Micro Grant?
To apply for a Micro Grant please visit the USTA Micro Grant page, and click the apply now option to get started. Please note all applicants must be a USTA Organizational Member. (Applicants may become a USTA Organizational Member at no charge) Additionally, grants cannot be awarded for private ventures or for individual player expenses.
I Applied for a Micro Grant, What's Next?
Each completed grant application will be assessed based on the above Standards by the USTA Section, or by its designated District. The respective USTA Section or District will determine grant awards. Applications will be reviewed on an ongoing basis, and responses will be returned monthly. Grants will be sent to recipients within 2 weeks of an applicants response date.
