When creating a tournament, you may want to offer a variety of different events, however, after registration has closed, you may find that some events have low numbers or no registrations. At this point, after moving the players and prior to finalizing player selection, you can delete the events that have no registrations.
The benefit of deleting the events that are not being played is that it is easier for players to view the draws on the public side without having a long list of events in the drop down AND easier for the tournament desk management.
You can delete events at any stage of a tournament - ie in planning stage or after approval. You will not be able to delete events if there are players registered to that event or if Tournament Desk has been launched. Unwanted events must be deleted before Tournament Desk is launched.
Please see : Moving A Player(s) Into Another Event-Before Selections are Finalized to move the players.
NOTE: By deleting events - this action cannot be undone and all data will be lost. There is no way to retrieve the data.
To delete the event - you can do this individually or in bulk.
- In Serve Tennis - select the tournament that you wish to edit.
- Select the Events tab
- Select the event(s) that you wish to delete by click in the box in the division column and then click in trash bin to delete
- To delete in bulk it is the same step but further information here: To delete in bulk
- A pop up confirmation screen will appear - click delete to confirm.
- A confirmation screen will be shown - click Finish
To delete in bulk -
As above, but to select all events - check the box next to division to select all: It will state the full number of events - even events with players on, however, it will not delete any events with registered players.
After selecting and confirming to delete the events, the confirmation will show: a list all events that have been deleted. It is not possible within the system to delete events that have players linked and the overview will show as below.
