What is a Level Configuration?
Level Configuration is found in the Serve Control section of USTA. It is for High School State staff to configure its own unique set of properties for the High School Tournaments. There is a wide variety of properties that can be specified. Examples of these Level Configuration Properties are Draw Format, Scoring Format, Length of Event, etc.
Who can create a Level Configuration?
Invited State staff with the scope of Super Administrator and Administrator - and Tournaments in Serve Control have access to create and edit Level Configurations. Level Configurations are created from a hierarchy of National > State.
What draw formats can I use?
State Staff will be able to select from the options available for each level as set by National. The reason for this is because there is a close link with ranking and points awarded. Not all formats are compatible with the options for rankings.
The scoring and draw formats in Tournament Desk now represent what has been selected by the National and State Staff. The formats chosen will be available for the High School Coaches to choose within that State.
Editing of score formats after Tournament Desk is launched?
If a tournament director/Coach needs to change the score format that is not permitted, State Staff have the ability to edit this themselves from Serve Control. The Tournament Director/Coach will need to reach out to their State Admin staff to discuss this and see what options are available and should be used.
When do the changes made in Level Configuration impact Tournament Desk.
If a change is made in Level Configuration it will automatically affect Tournament Desk. I.e. if you add a new score format or draw format, this will be available for any tournaments in progress or upcoming.
