Create a Conference Structure- High School Conferences

High School State admin will have the ability to configure distinct areas and sub-area within Serve Control. This setup is usually conducted at the beginning of the season, tailored to the specific structure of each state.  Areas can also now be deleted.  

Example:  Class (Area)> Region (Sub-Area)> District (Sub-Area)> Conference (Sub-Area)

Create a Conference Structure

Within Serve Control, click on the drop-down and enter your state + HS.  Once you are in your State High school set page, follow the steps below: 

  • Click Area Module
  • Manage area
  • Click Add Area, such as Classification
  • Enter Area Name
  • Click Add Area

  • Click three dots to edit the name input

  • If you have Sub-Areas, such as Regions/Districts, click into the Area created above, then chose Add Area from the Area Options drop-down
  • To create sub areas within the above created Sub-area, such as Region, click into the Sub-Area created above, then chose Add Area from the Area Options drop-down, repeat as needed.  
  • Deleting an area:  If an Area was created in error, you can now delete Areas by clicking the Area Options and choosing Delete Area.  Areas can only be deleted if it does not have any subareas, teams, or leagues created against it.

  • After you have finished adding Areas and Sub-Areas, click into the last of the Sub-Areas created above to add teams to that area.  NOTE:  If your structure includes Classification A, Region 1, District 1- You will add your teams from within the District area which is the last area of the structure.  See the video on Adding Teams to a Conference below these steps.  
    • Click Add team.  Teams may now be added after a league is created.  See To add a team after league creation
    • Enter school name and click search.  You can filter by city and state on the right side, above the results.
  • Select the correct school and click Add team, repeat for all teams in the last Sub-Area.

Duplicate Schools Issue

We've noticed some duplicate schools in the system. If you encounter duplicates and need immediate assistance selecting the correct school in the Areas ->  teams tab, please reach out and we'll help you identify the correct one. Our data team will address these duplicates as soon as possible.

  • Once the team is added, click the three dots to the right to add that team to a League.  

Teams added to an Area/Sub-Area will have a note of the Area Structure on the school website and within the Schedule

To add a team after league creation:  

  • Go to the Teams tab and click Add Team
  • Add team details as shown above.
  • Once added, click the three dots and select add team to league.
