Find answers to common questions below to help get you going with the Tennis Venue Services program and grant applications.
Is it necessary to have all funding sources identified before moving forward with a USTA TVS Grant?
You should have at least a portion of the funding identified. Our team can give advocacy guidance on how to locate other sources of funding. Please complete the TVS inquiry form and indicate that you are looking for advocacy assistance.
How do I know what type of work needs to be done at my tennis facility?
It can be difficult at times to determine the scope of work for a facility project. The TVS team can assist after reviewing photos of the site. We recommend having tennis court contractors visit the site to give preliminary recommendations on what work needs to be performed and a cost estimate.
What are some of the factors considered before a grant award is made?
The review team looks at the following factors, amongst others, when making a grant funding decision:
- Financially viable project
- Courts are accessible to the public. The facility must have programs that are available for the public at large to participate in, even if for a fee.
- Inclusion of 36’ and 60’ blended tennis playing lines
- Additional requirements for Category III projects
- Present evidence of a detailed program plan that includes public play opportunities
- Completion of the technical review process.
Is there a set timeline to apply for Tennis Venue Services assistance?
The Tennis Venue Services team accepts inquiries and makes funding awards on a rolling basis. Currently, there is no set timeline to apply.
Do I need to be a USTA member to apply?
