Suspension points can be assigned in Tournament Desk by the Tournament Referee, Tournament Director or Section Staff. The points can be assigned from three different places within Tournament Desk.
Once a suspension point is awarded, a notification email is immediately sent to the player. The details included in the suspension point email vary. The information is based on where the points were entered in Tournament Desk, on the Draw, or the Players tab.
If a player is suspended, between registration and date of the tournament, an icon will present next to the player's name in the Tournament Desk-Participants tab to alert the TD. The icon will display whether this is due to suspension. Additionally, a banner will be displayed on the Participants tab alerting the TD.
Choose from the options below for suspension point instructions. FAQs are also available at the end of the article.

FAQs on Suspensions
Q: Where can I find detailed information on suspension points?
A: The Friends of Court 2023 includes details regarding suspension points.
Q: What are the eligibility rules for suspension points and tournament registration?
A: Serve Tennis will prevent a player who is suspended from being able to register for a tournament online during the dates they are suspended. It will also prevent a player who is suspended from being able to be manually entered into a tournament during the dates they are suspended.
They can register for tournaments that start after the end date of their current suspension. However, if a player's suspension is in the future:
- They can register for tournaments that run before their suspension starts.
- They can't register for tournaments that fall between the dates of their suspension.
Q: When does the player get emailed about the suspension points?
A: Determining when to enter the points is at the discretion of the Referee and Tournament Director. Once the points have been entered, the player is emailed immediately with the details of the violation.
Q: I am getting an error when trying to update the Suspension points for a past tournament.
A: It's possible that the suspension point has been edited in Serve Control by Section staff. We recommend contacting the Section or District staff to check the player in Serve Control.
The Tournament Desk view is meant for on-the-day reporting and is over-ridden by Serve Control.
Q: What information is emailed to the player when a suspension point has been awarded.
A: Below is an example of an email sent to a player. This example is from suspension points entered from the draw. This version includes the event and round information.
