There are 4 membership statuses:
- Active, a member is active on the system, they are fully paid and within the membership period.
- Pending, this will indicate a member has requested to join but payment has not yet been received.
- Lapsed, a membership has expired and is now outside of the grace period, the member has not renewed therefore their status will update to lapsed.
- Cancelled, if a member has decided to cancel their membership with you then you can amend them to cancelled.
To amend the status of a member then firstly navigate to your membership module and then select 'View all members' in the top right corner of your screen:
You can now search for the member using the first and / or the last name search fields:
Once you have found the correct contact record, select the record to open their details, in the top right corner there is a 'Status' criteria. When selected a drop down list will appear, you can select the relevant status and the record will update automatically.
Once a membership has expired and is outside of the grace period stated in your membership settings, then the membership status will automatically update to 'Lapsed' if they do not renew.
If you are using online payment methods and a member pays online then the membership status will update to 'Active'. If you are using manual payments then you will need to ensure that when adding the payment you also update the members status to 'Active'.
