Q. I am new to tournaments. How do I get started?
Please contact your local Section office for advice. They can provide information about events, providers, and programs.
Q. How do I find upcoming tournaments?
To search for a tournament, go to playtennis.usta.com/tournaments. On the Tournaments tab, you may begin your search by choosing from the available options.

Q. I completed my player registration, what happens next?
- Once you complete the tournament registration, you will receive a confirmation email.
- After the tournament registration period has closed, the Tournament Director will complete the player selection.
- If you are selected for the tournament, the system will charge the payment details you provided during registration. An email confirmation will be sent with details.
- If you aren't selected for the tournament, you will be notified by email. Additionally, your payment details won't be charged.
Q. I was not selected for the tournament, how do I appeal?
If you would like to know why you weren't selected for the tournament, please first review the criteria on the tournament page. If you need further clarification, please contact the Tournament Director. The Tournament Director's contact information will be listed on the tournament page.
Q. I registered for a tournament but now I can't attend, how do I withdraw my registration?
Players can withdraw online before the tournament registration period closes without being charged for the event. Click here for instructions.
After the registration period closes, tournament refunds are at the discretion of the Tournament Director. Please review the refund policy on the tournament page to see if you're eligible for a refund and the details of the process.
Q. I registered for the wrong tournament. What should I do next?
If you registered for the wrong tournament, you can withdraw online before the tournament registration period closes without being charged for the event. Click here for instructions.

Q. I received the error message "player does not meet the residency requirement." What does this mean?
The error message "player does not meet the residency requirement" will show up if the player hasn't declared their residency yet OR if they are outside of the area that the tournament is sanctioning (Example: Eastern player registering for Florida L3-Closed). Q. Why do I need to save my credit card to complete a registration?
At the time of registration, it's unknown whether the player might be selected for the event. If the player is selected, the system will need access to your payment details to charge for the registration. If the player isn't selected, then nothing is done with the payment information.
Please be advised that payment details are not saved for future registrations. The USTA uses the payment provider Stripe, no personal identifiable financial information is held in the USTA databases. It is held in Stripe, which meets the regulations set by the Financial Authorities.
Q. What is Link Payment by Stripe? How do I edit Link by Stripe information?
LINK PAYMENT with Stripe
USTA uses Stripe as the payment provider, you can choose to use LINK for faster payout options, but this is optional. To not set up Link, you must uncheck the box as below at the point of registration.
If you need to update your email address or phone number, you can do this by
1. Logging into your Link account on app.link.com...you will use your email to sign in
2. Navigating to Settings > Account.
3. Clicking on the phone number/email address you would like to update

Q. How can I obtain a copy of the tournament payment receipt?
The payment receipt is provided by email once the transaction has been charged. The email is sent to the address provided during registration and is sent from receipts+acct_1Gin94DD3nZJlvMp@stripe.com. The subject line of the email reads "Your United States Tennis Association Inc receipt."
If you can't find the email, please check your spam or junk folder. If nothing is found, please contact USTA Customer Care for assistance.
Q. What happens if a tournament is canceled?
If you registered for an event and it did not occur, the Tournament Director is responsible for issuing you any applicable refund based on Section or tournament policy. This applies to individual event cancellations, weather-related cancellations, or the entire event being canceled. Event cancellation details may be available on the tournament page, where you can also find the Tournament Director's contact information.
Q. How do I see the selected players, match timings, and schedules for the tournament?
All the information is available on the public tournament website. As the tournament changes status, more tabs will appear (registration is open, after player selections, draws published, and scores are entered).
- The following tabs will show:
- OVERVIEW and EVENTS: These are the details of the tournament. The tournament directors add relevant information here. It includes the events, location, and contact information of the tournament director and (if applicable) the referee.
- PLAYERS: Prior to player selections it will show the registered players, post-player selection it will show the acceptance lists. This tab also shows Selected, Alternates, and Withdrawn. If it's a doubles event, it will show paired players. Clicking on the player's name will take you to the player's profile.
- DRAWS: Select the event from the drop-down to display the draws. Depending on the draw format, you can navigate through the draw stage: Main, Playoffs, or Consolation

You can scroll through the different rounds by clicking on the rounds. This makes it easier to view.
SCHEDULE: Use the filters to find a schedule. It will list all upcoming and completed matches. If you can't see the schedule tab, it means the tournament director hasn't enabled the feature.
