Creating Team Tournament Draws

• From Tournament Desk, Click of the Draws tab and click Make Draw

• • Step 1:  Draw Configuration
    • Select a draw and enter a draw name.
      • The draw size will be determined by the number of teams in an event. The seeds will automatically pull in from the seeds you have selected. These two area are not editable. 
    • Draw Type Note, these vary based on Section and tournament level
    • Draw size is automatically determined by tournament desk based on the number of players in your main draw, for example:
      • 1-4 players = Draw size of 4 players.
      • 5-8 players = Draw size of 8 players.
      • 9-16 players = Draw size of 16 players.
      • 17-32 players = Draw size of 32 players.
      • 33-64 players = Draw size of 64 players
    • Enter a number of seeds, this will autofill but can be lower (not increased)

    • Group Seeding:

      • In some cases, the Tournament Committee may group seed players together and assign each of them the same seed (for example, in the group 5-8, each player in the group is assigned the fifth seed).

      • Select the number you would like to begin the grouping after, i.e. if you have 8 seeds and you would like seeds to show as 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 5, 5, 5 you will select 4 here. 
      • Group seeding will show in the draw only, not in the Entries Tab (regular seeding will show here).  
      • More details on group seeding can be found in the Friend At Court 2023.
    • You can choose to make automated or manual draw. For Team Events we suggest Automated. 
• Click Create a Scorecard Template

• • Step 2:  Create a Scorecard Template- Select a template or add your own scoreacard/match collection

        • WTT
        • Gold Team Challenge
        • USTA Battle of Sections
        • TOC
        • WTT/ITT
    • Enter match collection details and click Add Match Collection.  
      • Collection name - this name will appear as the title for this group of matches within the scorecard both in the backend and on the public view.
      • Number of matches - the total lines of singles for that particular collection. If the team is composed of 6 girls 14s players, put 6. This is NOT the number of total matches each player will play in the tournament, just the number of matches against each team.
      • Match type - singles or doubles (if it is mixed doubles, enter doubles)
      • Age Division- You can add eligible age divisions.  IE if your event was created as a 30 and over - age groups below this will not appear, i.e. 20u, 25u.
      • Score format-Select from the list of approved score formats ( Please note , this score format will be applied to all matches within this match collection ) .
      • Points awarding type - here you can select how to calculate the collection value, i.e. match won, game, set, or allocate one point for more than one match won.

• • • • Click Add Match Collection again to create multiple custom Scorecards
      • Click Make Draw

Note you can edit the scorecard if the templates do not fit your needs. Choose the format that fits best for your tournament and edit the scorecard. Creating a Custom Scorecard for Team Tournaments
